WHAT DO WE DO WHEN THE ADVANCED OR INTERMEDIATE COURTS ARE FULL AND HOW DO WE DECIDE WHO PLAYS NEXT?
When the courts are full, the Paddle Rack System goes into effect. Four players play a game on the court to 11, win by 2. After that game, the winners stay on the court and split up. The losers go off the court, and two new players enter. Those four players play another game. After this game, it is likely that 3 players will exit the court (the losing team and 1 player from the winning team, because players can only play 2 consecutive games!
The Paddle Rack System shows everyone who enters next. The video explains how it works. Note: we don't use a yellow ball, like in the video. We use a white clip.
What if you are a beginner player and you are not ready for competitive play on the intermediate and/or advance courts? Or what if you just want to play with your family/friends and you don't want to "mix in"? What do I do? Where do I play?
If the courts are not full, jump on a court at anytime. We want you to learn and have fun.
If the courts are filling up or full, then move to the NOVICE COURT, Court #1. Court #1 is designated for novice and/or non-competitive play. If the court is being used, place your paddles in the paddle rack by the Court #1 sign. That will show the players on the court that others are waiting to use it. If there is a waiting line for Court #1, then a 15 minute time limit will be in place for each team/group. The honor system will be in place to keep players/groups rotating on to Court #1.
Also...go to the Lessons tab and consider signing up for a lesson or watching one of the YouTube video about the Basics of Pickleball. It will help your play develop. đŸ˜€
